Background: Ptosis is abnormally low position of upper eyelid. Frontalis suspension procedures are used in unilateral or bilateral cases of severe ptosis with extremely poor levator function. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of frontalis sling surgery using silicon tube for simple congenital blepharoptosis with poor levator function. Material & methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 22 cases who underwent frontalis sling surgery from April 2012 to December 2014 with a minimum of 6 month follow up. Result: The functional success rate was 90.91% . Two eyes had complications. In one eye there was tube extrusion secondary to infection of tract and in one case there is lateral drooping of lid. Conclusion: Frontalis suspension using silicon tube is efficacious and safe procedure in simple congenital ptosis with poor levator function.
